Make Your Grout Look New with Everyday Products - Floor Restore & MoreNothing can make a bathroom or kitchen look worse than dirty grout lines. Over time, grout in your wall and floor tile can become grimy and stained, changing the whole look of your bathroom or kitchen. Dirty grout is inevitable, even with regular floor mopping and tile scrubbing. However, there are things you can do at home that make grout cleaning a snap and can leave your kitchen and bathrooms looking clean and fresh!

Homemade grout cleaning products are a great solution for homes with pets and small children that frequently use tile floors with dirty grout. Cleaning your home with non-heavy-duty products can help to protect your loved ones from unnecessary chemical exposure.

There are many different recipes that you can use for grout cleaning. Here are a few you can try that are made from everyday products you can find already in your home.

Recipe 1: Baking Soda and Water

This is the mildest of all homemade grout cleaning products, and because of this, it can be used on a variety of tile surfaces, from ceramic to natural stone. All you need is to combine 3 parts baking soda with 1 part water to make a paste that you can apply to the grout lines. Let sit for 10 minutes before rinsing clean.

Recipe 2: White Vinegar and Dish Soap

Combine 1 part white vinegar to 1 part dish soap. You can also heat the vinegar for a minute in the microwave before mixing in the soap. With a spray bottle, spray this onto your grout lines and let sit for a few minutes before scrubbing with an old toothbrush. When finished, wipe off with a wet towel.

Recipe 3: Lemons and Baking Soda

Mix lemon juice and baking soda into a paste. Apply this solution over your grout lines and let it sit before rinsing it with water. Be careful with this recipe, since the lemons are acidic and will harm travertine and marble limestone tile.
